Once Jimmy Kimmel addressed the iconic Harry Styles-Chris Pine Spitgate incident, Malala Yousafzai politely ended the interview.
The Oscars 2023 had many funny moments, but when host Jimmy Kimmel opted to discuss the Harry Styles-Chris Pine Spitgate episode, Malala Yousafzai stole the show. Malala slammed it with a humorous one-liner to put an end to it. We all recall how Styles and Pine became mired in a rumour that the former member of One Direction had allegedly thrown up on Pine after the Venice Film Festival premiere of their movie “Don’t Worry Darling” in September 2022.
Although the “Don’t Worry Darling” actor Chris had already stated that nothing of the such had occurred, the 2023 Oscars host chose to make fun of Malala on the subject. Kimmel made a joke about the 25-year-old activist during his presentation at the prestigious award ceremony, asking if the former member of 1D spat or not.
“Your work on human rights and education for women and children is an inspiration,” the 55-year-old host allegedly said to Malala, adding, “As the youngest Nobel Prize laureate in history, I was wondering, do you think Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine?” Malala Yousafzai politely declined the question by stating, “I only talk about peace,” to the audience’s immediate laughter.
The Internet jumped on the bandwagon right away, with many criticising Kimmel for asking Malala the question. One individual said, “Gross. Why are you being so disrespectful to this brave young woman? Are those in positions of authority in the entertainment sector truly so afraid of her? Shameful.” “Not a good question, but beautifully addressed by Malala Yousafzai,” read a tweet from another user. One user said, “That’s such a redundant thing to do: talk about celebrities most of whom would be unknown to especially the ppl whom Malala symbolises n raises her voice for,” and another said, “that’s such a redundant thing to do.”
Gross. Why are you treating this brave young woman with such disrespect? Are those in power in the entertainment industry really so threatened by her? Shameful.

“Comedians getting embarrassed at the Oscars is starting to become a theme,” a user observed.
Chris Pine fairly cleared the air in the first week of March by refuting claims that Harry Styles had spit on him while promoting their film. In a recent video interview with Esquire, Pine dissected the entire Spitgate episode and made it clear that Styles did not spit on him. “Harry is a really kind guy; he didn’t spit on me. I was sleeping on the plane as we were returning from Venice when my publicist woke me up and said, “We need to make a statement on what happened in Venice.” As she showed it to me, it truly appeared as though Harry had spit on me. I wasn’t spit on by him.
“I suppose Harry leaned down and said, ‘It’s just words, isn’t it?'” the actor continued. We used to joke around. We all had jet lag and were attempting to respond to questions. Sometimes when doing press appearances, your head becomes confused and you speak incoherently, so we made the joke, “It’s just words.
