Lux Style Awards are one of the biggest award shows in Pakistan. Although the credibility of these awards has been questioned time and again, top Pakistani celebrities always actively participate in these shows. The Pakistani showbiz industry is known for its glitz and glamour. It has designers and make-up artists who have often given many of these celebrities the most impressive looks. However, for some odd reasons whenever there is an award show, these designers and make-up artists tend to disappoint their fans and followers. There were some hits and miss, when we talk about the dresses at LSA 2021 this year. Let’s discuss some of them!
LSA 2021 Looks We Wished Were Better:
Saboor Aly
The icy blue one shoulder pleated dress with a puffy statement sleeve, paired with a sleek bun failed to do any wonders for Saboor at the LSA this year. The blue silk number Saboor donned for the ceremony had the potential to look absolutely stunning, but the lack of skilled dressmaking was obvious in the look. The zipper above the slit stuck out of the dress, the stitching on the sides was far from seamless, and the ill-fitted single sleeve made it look like the dress had been thrown together at the very last minute.
Mira Sethi
Failing miserably with the wet-hair look, Mira Sethi needs to be looking for a new stylist ASAP! Mira Sethi’s outfit she wore to LUX Style Awards was not liked by a lot of people and even us. She wore a loose dress with pockets and she paired it with glamourous elbow-length gloves. Her dress had string neckline detail. Mira had a no-makeup makeup look on with a quite messy hairstyle. For us, it was a major miss and we think she could have selected a much better outfit which could have stole the whole show.
Mansha Pasha
Mansha Pasha dress was also consider in a worst dresses of Lux style award. And also at a moment Saboor Aly and Mansha Pasha looks too similar because of their dressing. Looks like both have chosen same dress of a designer and no on is ready to leave for the other. While the only thing which was change is there was no cut in her dress, but a one shoulder off. Also her dress doesn’t fits on her. A long tail with the one off shoulder doesn’t look that great. Better luck next time Mansha!
Mahira Khan
Mahira Khan is considered the ultimate superstar of the showbiz industry. We are pretty sure that all the leading designers would have loved to dress Mahira Khan up for the occasion yet she chose to wear an outfit designed by her best friend Feeha Jamshed. While the gown was designed well and the color looked good on Mahira, the fitting was not on point at all! We are wondering how it stayed in place during the entire function since the shoulders were dropping and it was loose from the top to the bottom. Even the sleeves were not properly fitted. The fact that Mahira played it safe with the styling and the make-up did not make this look as bad as many others but it was bad enough to make it to this list.
LSA 2021 Looks We Liked:
Mehwish Hayat
There were two other looks that we loved that weren’t from the red carpet and both were by Mehwish Hayat. The first was the maroon sequined number she wore for her dance performance. The one-shoulder, floor-length dress certainly stood out on stage.
But when it comes to the wow factor, nothing can beat this outfit.
Reminiscent of the work of high-end international designers, the slim fitted dress featured gold beadwork over nude coloured fabric, making it seem as if the embroidery was on her skin. The shoulders over the high neck, shoulders and upper arms, reminding us a bit of an epaulette (the fringe on the shoulders of some military uniforms).
Aima Baig:
Less iconic but still gorgeous was Aima Baig’s slim fitted black dress. The high-necked number was by Sana Maskatiya and we must say Baig certainly made it work. With minimal silver embroidery, the dress made greater use of the wearer’s own silhouette than any embellishments.
Ayesha Omer:
The stunning Ayesha Omar had two outfits prepared for the LUX Style Awards and we have mixed reviews. The outfit she wore for the red carpet event was stunning and definitely stole the spotlight at the event. It was a fully bedazzled ivory dress with sequins and embroidered detailing, a cold shoulder, and had cape sleeves. She kept her hair simple sleek straight and with a glam makeup look. But her performance outfit was the one we didn’t like. It was a form-fitted black dress with a train and cross-neck detailing. She paired it with black glittery tights and long boots.
