Dipesh a 3-year-old boy belonging to the Hindu community is supposed to have a bone marrow transplant for which he needs Rs 4 million. His father, Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri, was a veterinarian and had done many treatments for free but was heart broken when he found out that his son had Thalassemia and that he could not afford his treatment. He went to several charities and asked for help but they rejected his plea for help because they said the charities were for Muslims only.
During the Ramadan segment, on ARY, where Dipesh’s father asked for donations. While the the hosts were imploring the public to donate actor Fahad Mutafa called and said “I just woke up and came to know that a kid needs some help to get a bone marrow transplant done. I would like to donate Rs 2 million.”. The actor also encouraged other people to come forward and donate to save the child’s life.
The show was hosted by Iqrar ul Hasan and Waseem Badami on ARY, and the cost for surgery was 4 million for which the half amount only was donated by Na Maloom Afraad actor.
Hats off to Fahad Mustafa for this kind gesture. Surely these acts influence people and set a great example.
