Senior Veteran actress Durdana Butt aged 83, passed away on Thursday 12th Aug, 2021 after eight days on ventilator in a hospital in Karachi.
Actor Khalid Malik took Instagram to share the sad news of her demise. Few days back, he also shared about Durdana Butt being on ventilator. Journalist and public relations specialist Tehmina Khalid confirmed that she was suffering from COVID and also battling from Cancer from past few years.

Durdana Butt was born on May 9, 1938 in Lahore but spent most of her childhood in London. She graduated from Kinniard College and did PhD from University of Toledo in Ohio Educational Administration. She was married to one of her relative Saeed Ahmed Khan who died after few years of marriage. Butt started her acting career in 1970s. Her notable work includes Fifty Fifty, Tanhaiyan, Angan Terha, Naukar ke Aage Chakar. She continued acting till 2019. Apart from working in dramas, Butt also starred in movies like Balu Mahi, Parey Hut Love, Ishq Positive and Dil Diyan Gallan.
Besides her acting career, she remained associated with Beacon House School in Karachi for a very long time being a qualified educational administrator. The funeral prayer of the late television actress was held at the Sultan Masjid, Defence in Karachi.
